U.S. clean energy installations surge, adding enough capacity to power 72 million homes in 2024.

The American Clean Power Association (ACP) reports a significant surge in clean energy deployment during Q3 2024, with 10.2 GW of new capacity added, up 86% from the same period in 2023. Year-to-date installations total 29.6 GW, enough to power 72 million homes. Solar capacity saw a 6.3 GW increase in Q3, nearly reaching 20 GW year-to-date, while energy storage added 3.5 GW, bringing the year-to-date total to 7.5 GW. The land-based wind pipeline now stands at 24.4 GW, and offshore wind has grown to 15.5 GW.
