Two pedestrians were fatally struck by vehicles in South Carolina early Wednesday morning.

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a 2017 Jeep Compass near Black Creek Road in Florence County, South Carolina, at around 12:23 a.m. Wednesday. The victim was walking south in the left lane when the vehicle, driving in the right lane, changed lanes to pass another car and hit the pedestrian. The driver was uninjured and no charges have been filed. Meanwhile, in Sumter County, another pedestrian died after being hit by a 2012 Suzuki pickup truck around 12:40 a.m. on Black River Road. Both incidents are under investigation.
