Study finds no long-term climate impact from ancient asteroid impacts in Siberia and U.S.

A new study by UCL researchers found that two massive asteroid impacts, which created the Popigai crater in Siberia and the Chesapeake Bay crater in the US around 35.65 million years ago, did not cause any long-term climate changes. The researchers analyzed fossils of tiny marine organisms and found no significant climate shifts over the following 150,000 years.
