Philippine government launches affordable rice kiosks in Metro Manila to combat rising food prices.

The Philippine government’s Department of Agriculture is launching Kadiwa ng Pangulo kiosks in Metro Manila’s public markets and transport stations to offer affordable rice at P40 per kilo under the Rice-for-All program. This initiative aims to help consumers cope with rising food prices and stabilize rice costs. The program will initially operate in several key markets and MRT/LRT stations, with plans to expand further. The government has approved an additional P5 billion budget to support the program.
