Supervisor Kathryn Barger has started her term as Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. She has increased meeting frequency to every Tuesday, starting January 1, 2025, and moved public comments to the beginning of meetings. Barger's priorities include public safety, aiding the homeless and foster youth, and supporting mental health systems. She recently received the President's Award from the Peace Officers Association for her support of law enforcement.
