India approves $2.8 billion in military equipment to enhance naval and coastal defenses.

The Indian Defence Acquisition Council, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved procurements worth ₹21,772 crore ($2.8 billion) for military equipment. This includes 31 fast attack boats and 120 fast interceptor craft for the Navy, an electronic warfare system for Su-30MKI aircraft, six helicopters for the Coast Guard, and overhauls of tanks and fighter aircraft engines. These acquisitions aim to boost India's naval and coastal security capabilities.
