A newborn was left at a Safe Haven Baby Box in Lebanon, Ohio, for the first time since its installation.

A baby girl was left at a Safe Haven Baby Box at a fire station in Lebanon, Ohio, on Monday and was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Ohio law allows parents to anonymously surrender a newborn up to 30 days old without facing prosecution. This is the first use of the Lebanon box, installed in October 2023, which is one of ten such boxes in Ohio.
