New report shows laws and regularization have reduced irregular employment of migrant workers in Ireland.

A report by the European Migration Network Ireland and ESRI finds that new laws and a regularization scheme have reduced irregular employment of migrant workers in Ireland. The food service sector, with small businesses and non-EU nationals, accounts for 54% of employment permit law breaches. Irregular employment affects tax revenue and worker rights. The report recommends increasing the number of Workplace Relations Commission inspectors to 80 to improve enforcement.
