Iowa allocates $3.5M for decodable books for all 1st graders to boost reading skills.

Iowa is investing $3.5 million to provide decodable book packs to every first-grade student in public and accredited nonpublic schools. Over 100,000 book packs will be distributed, featuring simple words to help students connect letters and sounds. The program, funded by the American Rescue Plan, aims to engage parents in reinforcing reading skills at home and includes QR codes for video lessons.
