India reported 21.69 lakh tuberculosis cases from January to October 2024, showing a 17.7% decline in incidence and a 21.4% drop in deaths since 2015. The country aims to eliminate TB by 2025, five years ahead of the global target. The National TB Elimination Programme has implemented initiatives like free drugs, diagnostics, and nutritional support to reduce the burden of TB.
