Airlines lag in switching to sustainable fuels, falling short of carbon reduction goals.

A study by Transport and Environment shows that most airlines are not transitioning quickly enough to sustainable jet fuel, which makes up only 1% of aviation fuel use. While some airlines like Air France-KLM have made significant efforts, 87% are not making meaningful progress due to high costs and lack of investment from major oil players. This hinders meeting carbon emission reduction targets.
