A recount begins in Maine's 2nd District race, where Jared Golden narrowly beat Austin Theriault.

A recount will begin on Monday in Maine's 2nd Congressional District race, following a ranked-choice runoff that declared Democratic incumbent Jared Golden the winner over Republican challenger Austin Theriault. The recount, prompted by Theriault due to the less than 1% margin of victory, involves hand counting over 400,000 ballots and could take several weeks. Golden won by about 2,700 votes after the ranked-choice tabulation.
