The Philippine government has begun acquiring land for the Subic-Clark-Manila-Batangas (SCMB) railway project, a $3.2 billion rail system aimed at connecting key economic centers. Over 40 affected landowners in Pampanga have been compensated and received Transfer Certificate of Titles (TCTs) for their cooperation. The project, set to start construction in 2027, seeks to enhance trade and attract investors.
