Norwegian company DNO discovers up to 57 million barrels of oil in North Sea's "dry belt."

Norwegian oil company DNO made a significant oil discovery named Othello in the southern North Sea, an area previously considered a "dry belt." The discovery, estimated at 27-57 million barrels of oil equivalent, with a mean of 41 million barrels, marks the first time moveable oil has been found in this area. DNO, with a 50% stake, and its partners are considering connecting the discovery to existing infrastructure, including the nearby Ekofisk and Valhall hubs.
