Nigerian student undergoes blood transfusion-free surgery for cancer, resumes normal life.

A 22-year-old Nigerian medical student underwent a complex surgery at Gleneagles BGS Hospital in Bengaluru, India, to treat a recurrence of chondrosarcoma in her shoulder. The procedure, which involved a radical scapulectomy with radiotherapy and thigh flap reconstruction, was particularly challenging as the patient, a Jehovah's Witness, required a blood transfusion-free operation. The surgery, lasting over 14 hours, was successful, and the patient has resumed normal activities.
