Jamaat-e-Islami leader supports Karachi university teachers' protest against government policies that threaten autonomy.

Jamaat-e-Islami's Karachi leader, Monem Zafar, backed a "Black Day" protest by university teachers in Karachi against the Sindh government's policies, which he claims undermine university autonomy. Zafar criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government for alleged corruption and for neglecting issues like street crime, infrastructure, and water crises. Both JI and the opposition MQM-P accuse the government of weakening university independence by requiring only contractual hires, leading to a potential boycott of classes.
