Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi was released from prison on December 1st, after serving a one-year sentence for supporting protests following the death of Mahsa Amini. Salehi, known for his anti-government music, faced a death sentence in April which was later overturned by Iran's Supreme Court. Amini's death sparked widespread protests in Iran, challenging the government's authority. Salehi was initially arrested in October 2022 for his public statements supporting these protests.
