The number of households in England seeking homelessness support has risen by 10% in the last year, reaching nearly 91,000. The government plans to spend an additional £233 million on tackling homelessness, bringing total spending to £1 billion. There has been a 15% increase in children experiencing homelessness, with 159,400 in temporary accommodation. Charity leaders call for 90,000 social homes to be built annually to address the issue.
