GE HealthCare buys full ownership of Japanese radiopharmaceutical firm Nihon Medi-Physics.

GE HealthCare is acquiring full ownership of Nihon Medi-Physics (NMP), a leading Japanese radiopharmaceutical company, by purchasing the remaining 50% stake from Sumitomo Chemical. The acquisition, expected to close in early 2025, subject to regulatory approvals, will enhance GE HealthCare's position in molecular imaging and expand its presence in Japan. NMP's radiopharmaceuticals are used in SPECT and PET imaging to diagnose diseases, and the deal will bolster GE HealthCare's Pharmaceutical Diagnostics segment.
