Florida report finds 'Live Local Act' housing too expensive for teachers, firefighters.

Florida's Live Local Act, aimed at helping workers live closer to their jobs, may not be benefiting public servants like firefighters and teachers. A report by the Florida Policy Institute (FPI) states that the housing created under the act is unaffordable for those earning below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The FPI recommends amending the act to specify funding allocations for lower AMI ranges and to incentivize local government to build more affordable housing.
