Tasmania unveils its first large-scale solar project, aiming to power 70,000 homes by 2027.

Tasmania's first large-scale solar project, a 288-megawatt solar farm in the Northern Midlands, will power up to 70,000 homes and support job creation. Developed by TasRex and Hydro Tasmania, the project aligns with Tasmania's goal to double renewable energy generation by 2040. Expected to be operational by 2027, the farm will be the state's fourth-largest generator, enhancing Tasmania's renewable energy mix.
