South African activists demand six-month ARV supplies to cut HIV patients' clinic visits.

South African activists are calling for a six-month supply of antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) to reduce frequent clinic visits for HIV patients. This demand was presented to Deputy President Paul Mashatile and Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi during a protest in Mdantsane. Motsoaledi agreed the proposal makes sense but noted the planning complexity may delay implementation past the December 15th deadline. The activists argue that longer medication supplies would ease patient burden and reduce clinic congestion.
