Social Security and SSI payments are shifting dates for December and January to accommodate holidays.
Due to holidays, SSI beneficiaries will receive their December payment early on December 31 instead of January 1. They also received two payments in November. In January, the payment will be for February, and the March payment will be delayed until April 2. This change doesn't affect the total yearly payment amount but may require budget adjustments. Social Security recipients will see a 2.5% cost-of-living increase in January and will receive their December payment on December 24 due to Christmas.
