Scottish students spent a week on Swona island, learning survival skills and restoring historical sites.

Students from Gordonstoun School in Scotland spent a week on the uninhabited island of Swona, between Orkney and Caithness, to restore parts of the island and learn survival skills. They built a toilet, refurbished a cottage, and repaired paths and dykes. Swona, home to various wildlife and with a history dating back to 2000 BC, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The students also learned to catch fish and pump water from a thousand-year-old well, emphasizing resilience and life skills.
