Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced strict measures against government employees fraudulently receiving social welfare pensions meant for the poor. Around 1,500 employees, including high-ranking officials, were found to have claimed pensions illegally. The government will take disciplinary action, demand repayment with interest, and introduce facial authentication, annual mustering, and mandatory income certificates to prevent future fraud.
