High-intensity drinking, linked to severe health risks, is on the rise among middle-aged adults.

High-intensity drinking, defined as consuming eight or more drinks for women and ten or more for men in one session, is more dangerous than binge drinking and is rising among middle-aged adults. This level of alcohol consumption can lead to a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) over 0.2%, significantly increasing risks of severe intoxication, injuries, overdose, and death. Experts advise consuming alcohol in moderation.
