Vietnam's National Assembly has approved a $67 billion high-speed railway project connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Stretching over 1,500 kilometers, the railway will reduce travel time from 30 hours to five hours. Scheduled to start construction in 2027 and operational by 2035, the project aims to boost economic growth and attract foreign investment. The railway will serve 20 provinces, prioritizing domestic funding but considering foreign loans if affordable.
