Twelve killed as Sudan's RSF attacks villages, escalating the country's ongoing conflict.

Twelve people were killed and dozens injured when Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked eight villages in Gezira State's Al-Meheiriba area, according to a local volunteer group. The RSF launched intensive shelling and direct attacks on residents. Since mid-April 2023, the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF has caused over 27,120 deaths and displaced more than 14 million people.
