Tractor-trailer chickpea fire breaks out in Death Valley after descending closed road; cleanup completed.

A tractor-trailer carrying dried chickpeas caught fire on November 21 in Death Valley National Park while descending a road closed to commercial trucks. The fire started due to overheated brakes. Responding agencies included the National Park Service, Caltrans, and the California Highway Patrol. Two Star Towing cleaned up the wreckage. Park officials say stray chickpeas pose minimal risk of becoming invasive.
