Myanmar's market shows stable activity but faces severe food shortages and a 55% price hike due to conflicts.

The October 2024 Rapid Market Assessment for Southern Sagaing in Myanmar showed stable market activity despite security issues, with Myaung seeing growth. However, food supply worsened due to disrupted vegetable supply, and conflict complicated supply routes, especially in Monywa and Ye-U. Prices for food and non-food items rose significantly, with total basket prices increasing by 55% year-on-year, driven by higher vegetable and meat prices. Northern Magway also saw a 13% increase in food basket prices due to supply disruptions.
