Manitoba expands GPS ankle bracelet program to more cities to protect survivors of intimate partner violence.

The Manitoba government is expanding its GPS ankle bracelet program for monitoring offenders to more communities, including Brandon and Steinbach, to support survivors of intimate partner violence. Launched in Winnipeg in August, the bracelets track location within two meters and alert authorities if conditions are breached. Survivors can receive notifications via a smartphone app. The program aims to expand to 100 bracelets across Manitoba.
