India targets 1 million sea cruise tourists by 2029, enhancing six major ports and offering tax benefits.

India aims to boost sea cruise tourism to 1 million by 2029 through its Cruise Bharat mission. Currently, six major ports with cruise terminals include Vishakhapatnam, Mormugao, New Mangalore, Cochin, Mumbai, and Chennai. The government has introduced a presumptive taxation regime for non-resident cruise operators and exempted foreign companies from lease and rental charges, effective April 1, 2025.
