Gabon's Constitutional Court has confirmed the results of a November 16 referendum, with 91.64% voting "Yes" for a new constitution. The new constitution, approved by 853,028 voters, replaces the semi-parliamentary system with a presidential regime, limits the presidential term to seven years and bans hereditary succession. The transition concludes with a presidential election in August 2025.
