China accuses Taiwan's DPP of blocking cross-Strait travel since 2020, citing pandemic restrictions.

The Chinese mainland blames Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for hindering cross-Strait travel. Spokesperson Chen Binhua claims the DPP has banned mainland residents from visiting Taiwan and stopped local travel agencies from organizing tours to the mainland since 2020, citing the pandemic. Despite this, the mainland has resumed travel for Fujian residents to Kinmen and Mazu, processing over 58,000 travel permit applications as of October 31.
