California Baptist University students placed second in an international artificial heart design contest in Japan.

California Baptist University students won second place in an international artificial heart prototype design contest held in Japan. The team, the only U.S. representative among nine contestants, developed a pump using rollers to mimic human heart fluid flow. They previously placed third in the 2023 competition in Dallas. The Heart Hackathon is a year-long project connecting students with industry professionals in artificial heart research.
