Water rates in Southwest Ohio have hit their highest levels in years due to increased maintenance costs for aging water systems. A survey of 69 jurisdictions found that nearly two-thirds had raised their prices, averaging a 4.5% hike since March 1, 2021. While Ohio's average $27 monthly bill ranks 12th cheapest in the U.S., rising costs could lead to cuts in infrastructure projects and services.
