Slovenia's unemployment rate climbs to 4.9%, highest since 2021, due to reduced product demand.

Slovenia's unemployment rate hit 4.9% in October, the highest in over three years, up 0.4 percentage points from September and 1.4 points from October 2021. Men's unemployment rate rose to 5%, slightly higher than women's at 4.8%. Due to declining product demand, companies are reducing their workforce. The government plans to introduce a new scheme to subsidize temporarily unemployed individuals.
