Researchers find Neolithic societies in Europe were more equal and mobile than previously thought.

A study by researchers from York, Vienna, and Harvard challenges previous beliefs about Neolithic societies, showing they were more egalitarian and mobile. Genetic data from over 300 individuals revealed extensive travel and no differences in status or resources. The study also found women played a significant role in farming. The research, published in Nature Human Behaviour, suggests Neolithic groups in Europe were socially equal and dynamic.
