Darrel Bruno, a 64-year-old member of the Samson Cree Nation and a trailblazer in advancing Indigenous rights within the RCMP, died on November 19 after battling cancer. Bruno fought against injustices and was awarded four promotions after a legal victory. He focused on community-based policing, crime prevention, and empowering Indigenous communities, founding cadet programs for youths. His family requests donations to Maskwacis Mobile Health or time spent with loved ones.
