Toronto city council has appointed Jim Jessop as the new Fire Chief and General Manager of Toronto Fire Services, effective January 2, 2025. Jessop, who has been with Toronto Fire Services since 1996 and currently serves as Deputy Fire Chief, will succeed Matthew Pegg, who retired in October after 32 years of service.
