Jihadist fighters from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and allies have disrupted the Damascus to Aleppo highway in northern Syria, leading to around 200 deaths, including civilians hit by Russian air strikes. This is one of the fiercest battles in years, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The offensive has also displaced over 14,000 people, nearly half of whom are children.
