France's Foreign Minister calls for Sudan ceasefire, condemns Russia's UN veto, pledges aid to Chad.

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot called for a ceasefire in Sudan's civil war during a visit to Chad, where over 1.5 million Sudanese refugees have sought shelter. Barrot urged foreign nations to stop supporting the warring factions and condemned Russia for vetoing a UN resolution aimed at protecting civilians in Sudan. He also pledged €7 million in aid to help Chad combat cholera and support women and children affected by the crisis.
