Despite fewer tourists, spending in Ireland rose in October 2024, reaching €534.3 million.

In October 2024, tourist visits to Ireland fell by 5.1% compared to the same month in 2023, yet spending increased by 3.6% to €534.3 million. British tourists made up 32.6% of visitors, followed by Americans (21.7%) and Germans (8.1%). The primary reason for travel was leisure (44.2%). Despite a 2.1% decrease in total nights spent, the average length of stay increased to 7.1 nights.
