Consortium plans to take ESR, a Hong Kong-listed real estate firm, private for over $7 billion.

A consortium led by Starwood Capital Group, Warburg Pincus, and ESR's founders, along with Qatar Investment Authority, plans to take Hong Kong-listed real estate fund manager ESR Group private, valuing it at over $7 billion. This potential deal comes as ESR shares have dropped over 60% from their 2021 peak due to China's property market slump. ESR, which manages various property-focused funds, went public in Hong Kong in 2019.
