Chinese man admits to vandalizing Yasukuni Shrine, spraying "toilet" in protest of Fukushima water discharge.

A 29-year-old Chinese man, Jiang Zhuojun, has admitted to vandalizing Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo in May by spraying the word "toilet" on a stone pillar, motivated by protesting the discharge of treated radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant. He faced charges of damaging property and disrespecting a place of worship, conspiring with two other Chinese nationals who have since left Japan. The shrine, which honors Japanese war criminals, has long been a diplomatic issue between Japan and China.
