Birmingham's City Hospital maternity services rated "requires improvement" due to staffing and equipment issues.

City Hospital's maternity services in Birmingham have been downgraded to "requires improvement" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) due to issues including staffing shortages, inadequate equipment checks, and compromised training. The hospital, part of the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, has moved to the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick. The CQC issued a warning to the trust and will monitor improvements.
