France's richest man, Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, testified in a trial involving former intelligence chief Bernard Squarcini, denying involvement in any scheme to protect LVMH. Squarcini and nine others face charges including influence peddling and compromising national security information. Arnault maintained he was unaware of any alleged scheme, and LVMH had settled out of court in 2021, paying €10 million in fines.
