Women's confidence in NHS maternity staff drops in England, survey of nearly 19,000 shows.

A national survey by the Care Quality Commission in England shows a decline in women's confidence in NHS maternity staff. Among 18,951 participants, fewer reported always receiving help during labor and clear communication from staff, with a five-year downward trend. However, there was an improvement in asking women about their mental health during antenatal and postnatal care. The CQC's director emphasized the need for additional support and investment to improve care quality.
