Water company Severn Trent pays £600,000 to restore a polluted brook in Leicestershire.

Severn Trent Water paid £600,000 to the Trent Rivers Trust after the Environment Agency found that improper operation of a pumping station led to the pollution of a 1km stretch of West Meadow Brook in Leicestershire with human waste. The issue persisted for weeks before being resolved. The funds will be used to restore habitats and improve natural processes to handle future pollution.
