Study links aggression in middle age to CTE and family mental illness history.

A new study in Neurology® indicates that individuals with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain disease from repeated head injuries, and a family history of mental illness may be more prone to aggression in middle age. The research found that these individuals scored higher on aggression measures compared to those with CTE but no family history of mental illness. The study aims to help predict aggression in CTE patients and identify those who could benefit most from treatment.
